The Newest Car – Audi e-tron concept

Charged with excitement.

The world is changing and mobility is changing with it.

Allow yourself to be inspired and experience the mobility of tomorrow. e-tron will make electromotive not just sustainable but exhilarating: charged with electrifying designs, breath-taking driving and innovative technology that gives you almost limitless freedom. e-tron is powered by electricity – and charged with anticipation. Be part of our evolution now: experience e-tron at Auto Shanghai and the Audi e-tron Sport back concept.

Charged with vision.

The fully electric Audi e-tron Sport back concept is the next logical step in our development of emission-free driving. It proves emphatically how thrilling electromobility can be and how much potential it holds for the future. The Audi e-tron Sport back concept offers fully electric driving without compromise.

Charged with design.

The e-tron vision doesn’t just feel inspiring, it looks that way too. The Audi e-tron Sport back concept is a breath taking electric vehicle, with its extremely sporty lines, expansive panels and tapering rear. Other highlights include illuminated rings and virtual side mirrors. It looks powerful as well as elegant. Its interior boasts an innovative, glowing varnish that provides an especially enthralling touch.
The lighting technology used in the Audi e-tron Sport back concept illuminates the way into Audi’s dynamic and intelligent future. As an example, its rear lights will use digital animation to provide much clearer signals for vehicles behind. The front and rear lights will also be able to project additional information and guidance onto the road for more safety, for example emphasising braking to vehicles behind or projecting a zebra crossing in front of the car for pedestrians.

Charged with comfort.

The Audi e-tron Sport back concept embodies a symbiosis of electrification and everyday usability: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and produces up to 320 kW of power (boosting up to 370 kW), and it combines this performance with a high degree of comfort and a range of up to 500 kilometers. Perfect, therefore, for everyday use – and more.
The newly developed e-tron quattro drive system transfers this power directly onto the road. The enormous torque produced by the electric motor is brilliantly transformed and applied to every road surface for an extraordinary driving experience. And the new quattro drive also recycles energy, making the Audi e-tron Sportback concept even more efficient.

Charged with alternatives.

The Audi e-tron Sport back concept shows that an entirely electric future is full of promise. But even now, Audi already offers a range of powerful hybrid vehicles. The Audi Q7 e-tron quattro1, which is the first ever plug-in hybrid to feature quattro, is extraordinarily efficient and offers the highest electric range in its segment. The compact Audi A3 Sport back e-tron2 combines the strengths of an electric drive system with the benefits of a combustion engine. Electric driving and long range, thanks to its powerful four-cylinder unit – for everyday use.

Charged all round.

The future of electromobility demands a holistic approach that goes beyond merely using electricity to power us around. A comprehensive ecosystem is required. Audi offers the vehicles, and it’s also building up the infrastructure: in conjunction with other big vehicle manufacturers, a comprehensive network of around 400 quick-charging stations is planned across Europe. High-power charging will make it easy to recharge your vehicle quickly at charging stations along the motorway that provide up to 350 kW of power. The charge capacity of our e-tron models is also evolving all the time. And we’re working on new technologies like Audi wireless charging, which allows you to charge up a vehicle even more easily using induction instead of cables. All you have to do is park the car on an induction plate in the ground; everything else happens fully automatically.
We will soon be offering comprehensive advice and a wide range of services to help make your move to an electric car as flexible and relaxed as possible. If you want, your local Audi partner will coordinate the verification and installation of an industrial power outlet right in your garage.3 We are also continuously thinking of how to make our e-tron cars a more convenient experience, with solutions such as a stylish charging dock for home use. Charging equipment that includes an adapter for the road makes it easy to charge your vehicle fully, wherever you are.

Charged with innovation.

We’re taking things even further and developing other alternative drive solutions to bring us closer to our vision of emission-free mobility. This includes the Audi g-tron fleet in conjunction with our pioneering Audi e-gas. This system combines performance, design and long-distance mobility with renewable energies. It’s already available in the Audi A3 Sportback g-tron4 and soon will be in the Audi A4 Avant g-tron5 and Audi A5 Sport back g-tron6. But that’s not all: Audi h-tron reveals the potential of fuel cell technology, which uses hydrogen as a source of energy for long-range driving and high performance.
And we are expanding our sustainable approach with Audi e-fuels: synthetic fuels that obtain their energy from renewable energy sources and bind in CO2 during manufacture. One example is Audi e-gas. In a succession of processes, CO2 is taken from the atmosphere and converted into Audi e-gas using bio methane and power-to-gas plants. Power-to-gas plants only use renewable energies to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen is released into the air and the hydrogen reacts with CO2 from a bio methane plant to create methane: our Audi e-gas. Our focus, therefore, is not on cars alone, it begins already with the production of fuel.
The time is ripe for sustainable mobility. Audi’s alternative drive solutions promise an exciting future without compromise. And electric driving promises to be thrilling, especially with e-tron.
